Setsuna Mudo thought he was just a fucked up kid. But he actually houses the spirit of the
fallen angel Alexiel, and now all of heaven and hell are at his feet, spoiling for war.
I'm actually pretty new to this series. Six months or so ago, I came across some pictures and
I loved the artwork. I looked up the series and was facinated by the controversial religous
theme of the story. I got the manga and fell in love with it.
Angel Sanctuary (Tenshi Kinryouku) is disturbingly beautiful manga by Kaori Yuki. An
underground fan favourite, AS ran for twenty volumes in the manga Hana to Yume. Like her
various other works (Count Cain, Boys Next Door, Kaine, etc) AS is a twisted gothic love story
with painfully human characters. The three part OVA has been picked up and distributed by
Central Park Media.
